Two surprise birthday cakes! So lucky to have such amazing friends in my life :)

I’m not much of a celebrator when it comes to my own birthday but it’s days like this when the love you receive make you realize how much you have to appreciate. This is a collage and a note that my gorgeous friend, Stina sent me this morning. She’s a very busy girl and it’s been too long since we’ve seen each other but it made me so happy to know that she had thought of me and made an extra effort to make this day special for me. She is such a loving and thoughtful friend and I am so lucky to have her in my life.

It’s take your daughter to work day! Not really. But almost. Today I woke up at 7am and followed my father to his office building where there is a lovely French cafe. I needed a change of atmosphere to focus on finishing up my dissertation so here I am! In a couple of hours I’ll meet my dad for a father-daughter lunch date, which will be a nice little reward (if I get much work done). Wish me luck!
